Ratings: ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Slips a Bit vs ‘The Bachelorette’

ABC wins Wednesday despite another lackluster “Grand Hotel”

Monday’s “The Bachelorette” added a few viewers on top of last week’s season high, while NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” moved a bit in the other direction.

As a result, ABC won another Monday primetime with NBC as the runner-up.

ABC was first in ratings with a 1.2 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 4.8 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Bachelorette” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. posted a 1.5 rating/7 share and 5.7 million viewers. At 10, “Grand Hotel” got a 0.6/3 and 3.1 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.8/4 and in viewers with 4.4 million. “American Ninja Warrior” from 8-10 averaged a 0.8/4 and 4.7 million viewers. At 10, “Dateline” had a 0.6/3 and 3.9 million viewers.

CBS, Fox and Univision tied for third in ratings, each with a 0.4/2. CBS was third in total viewers with 3.8 million, Fox was fourth with 1.8 million and Univision was fifth with 1.3 million.

For CBS, following back-to-back sitcom repeats, “The Code” at 9 settled for a 0.4/2 and 3.9 million viewers. Primetime ended with a rerun.

Fox aired only repeats.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/2 and seventh in viewers with 769,000.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and sixth in viewers with 997,000. At 8, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” had a 0.2/1 and 1.2 million viewers. A second episode at 8:30 received a 0.2/1 and 1.1 million viewers. At 9, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” got a 0.2/1 and 914,000 viewers. The network ended its night with an encore.
