Ratings: ‘Game of Thrones’ Hits Series High

Pay cable epic up 22% over premiere; on the broadcast side, “The Bachelorette” was up 18%, while new episodes of “Law & Order: LA” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” were down double digits

HBO's "Game of Thrones" hit a series high Monday, spiking 22 percent over its April premiere in total viewers to 2.7 million at 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, on the broadcast side, ABC's reality venture "The Bachelorette" gained heavily compared to last week's performance Monday.

"The Bachelorette," on ABC at 8 p.m., climbed 18 percent from its last airing on Memorial Day, taking the evening's No. 1 spot with a 2.6 rating/8 share and 8 million total viewers.

ABC also locked up the second-highest ratings of the evening with "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" at 10 p.m., which, though down 8 percent from its premiere last week, still had a 2.2/6 in the demo and 5.7 million total viewers.

Fox kicked off the evening with the season premiere of "MasterChef" at 8 o'clock, which saw a drop compared to last summer's premiere on July 27 (when it aired at 9 and had the benefit of a "Hell's Kitchen" lead-in).

Last night's episode received a 1.8/6 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers. The night closed with a "House" rerun at 9, which took a 1.2/3 in the demo and 3.4 million total viewers.

NBC aired a repeat of "Minute to Win It" at 8, which drew a 1.0/3 in the demo and 3.8 million total viewers. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" aired the following hour, taking a 10 percent dip compared to last week's episode with a 0.9/2 in the demo and 4.5 million total viewers, while "Law & Order: Los Angeles" at 10 was also down, 13 percent specifically, from the previous week's airing with a 1.3/3 in the demo and 6.1 million total viewers.

CBS ran reruns on Monday night, with back-to-back repeats of "How I Met your Mother" at 8 and 8:30 taking a 1.2/4 and 1.4/4 in the demo and 4.5 and 4.6 million total viewers, respectively; "Two and a Half Men" at 9 receiving a 1.6/4 in the demo and 6.1 million total viewers; "Mike & Molly" at 9:30 receiving a 1.4/4 in the demo and 6.1 million total viewers; and "Hawaii 5-0" at 10 garnering a 1.3/4 in the demo and 6.5 million total viewers.
