Ratings: ‘Code Black’ Finale Slips From Series’ Penultimate Week

ABC and its ESPYS settle for third place on Wednesday

CBS’ “Code Black” ended on Wednesday, when the medical drama slipped from the series’ second-to-last week. Still, CBS managed to tie for first-place with Fox in primetime’s key 18-49 demographic.

Airing just the ESPYS, ABC finished close behind in the main demo. NBC settled for fifth among adults of that all-important age range, ending up behind Telemundo.

CBS and Fox tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.0 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS was first in total viewers with 4.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. Fox was third in viewers with 3.4 million.

For CBS, “Big Brother” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.4/7 and 5.2 million viewers. At 9, “TKO” had a 0.8/4 and 3.4 million viewers. “Code Black” at 10 got a 0.7/3 and 5.3 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 0.9/4 and second in viewers with 3.9 million. The sports awards aired throughout primetime.

For Fox, “MasterChef” at 8 received a 1.0/5 and 3.5 million viewers. At 9, “24 Hours to Hell and Back” matched its lead-in’s demo numbers, but the hour dipped to 3.3 million viewers.

Telemundo was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/3 and fifth in viewers with 1.4 million.

NBC was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/3 and fourth in viewers with 2.7 million. Following reruns, “Reverie” at 10 managed a 0.4/2 and 1.7 million viewers.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 575,000. Special “Girl Got Game” at 8 settled for a 0.1/1 and 474,000 viewers. At 9, “The Originals” had a 0.2/1 and 677,000 viewers.
