“Little Big Shots” is no “America’s Got Talent” — “Marlon” learned that about its new lead-in the hard way on Thursday.

NBC’s Marlon Wayans summer sitcom dropped 42 percent in ratings from its Season 1 to Season 2 premiere. With last night’s soft performance, NBC settled for fourth place among adults 18-49 — the demographic most coveted by broadcast primetime advertisers.

CBS, ABC and Fox all split a first-place tie in the demo, finishing just one-tenth of a ratings point higher than NBC.

CBS, ABC and Fox each received a 0.7 rating in the main demo, according to preliminary numbers. CBS had a 4 share, ABC and Fox had 3s. CBS was first in total viewers with an average of 4.7 million. ABC was second in viewers with 3.5 million, Fox was fourth with 2.2 million.

CBS and ABC aired only reruns last night.

For Fox, “The Four” was the only show on its schedule, averaging those Nielsen numbers.

NBC was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/3 and third in viewers with 3.6 million. “Little Big Shots” at 8 p.m. had a 0.8/4 and 5.6 million viewers. The “Marlon” premiere at 9 got a 0.7/3 and 3 million viewers. A second episode at 9:30 received a 0.6/2 and 2.4 million viewers.

Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.5. Telemundo had a 3 share, Univision got a 2. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.3 million, Telemundo was sixth with 1.3 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 690,000, airing repeats.
