Ratings: ‘Quantico’ Stays Even, ‘Blood & Oil’ Suffers Major Spill

Don Johnson-led ABC series sheds over a million viewers week over week

ABC’s “Quantico” stayed about even with its premiere week ratings on Sunday night, while fellow newcomer “Blood & Oil” was down in total viewers and the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

“Quantico” scored a 1.9 rating/6 share and 6.9 million viewers, compared to a 1.9/6 and 7.1 million viewers during its premiere. “Blood & Oil” dropped to a 1.2/3 and 5.2 million viewers, down 14 percent in the key demo from its premiere last week and almost 20 percent in total viewers, according to Nielsen estimates.

On CBS, the season premiere of “CSI: Cyber” got a 1.0/3 and 7 million viewers, down almost 20 percent in total viewers from its first season finale and 17 percent in the key demo.

NBC won the night with a 6.3/19 and 17.6 million viewers. The network aired “Football Night in America” beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The first half hour block got a 2.0/7 and 6.7 million viewers, the second a 3.7/12 and 10.8 million, and the third a 6.2/19 and 17.5 million.

The NFL matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 got a 7.6/22 and 21.2 million viewers. However, due to the nature of live sports, results are approximate.

Fox finished second in the key demo with a 3.1/9 but third in total viewers with 7.9 million. “The Simpsons” was up from last week at 8 p.m. ET with a 2.6/8 and 6 million viewers, rising 83 percent in total viewers. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” also rose to a 1.9/5 and 4.1 million viewers at 8:30, up almost 30 percent in both measures. “Family Guy” got a 1.7/5 and 3.6 million viewers, up 27 percent in viewers from last week. “Last Man on Earth” got a 1.5/4 and 3.3 million viewers at 9:30, with a slight rise in both measures from last week.

ABC was third in the key demo with a 1.4/4 but fourth in total viewers with 5 million. Reruns of “The Muppets” aired from 7 – 8 p.m., followed by “Once Upon a Time” at 8. The fantasy series got a 1.8/5 and 5.3 million viewers, keeping it even with last week. “Blood & Oil” aired at 9, followed by “Quantico” at 10.

CBS was fourth in the key demo with a 1.3/4 but second in total viewers with 9.9 million. “60 Minutes” got a 1.5/5 and 11.6 million viewers at 7 p.m. The season premiere of “Madam Secretary” got a 1.5/4 and 12 million viewers at 8. The season premiere of “The Good Wife” got a 1.2/3 and 9.4 million viewers at 9. The season premiere of “CSI: Cyber” followed at 10.

Univision finished in fifth place with a 0.8/2 and 2.2 million viewers. Telemundo was sixth with a 0.3/1 and 722,000 viewers.
