Through the week of Sept. 17-21, "The Rachel Maddow Show" at 9 p.m. averaged 567,000 viewers in the demo, compared to the 500,000 that "Hannity" averaged in the same hour.

Last week's numbers also mark the highest ratings that Maddow's show has received since the week of Jan. 19, 2009.

Hannity shouldn't feel too bad, however; he still handily beat CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," which averaged just 198,000 viewers in the demo last week. Fox also held an edge over MSNBC in the hour, averaging 2.4 million throughout the week versus MSNBC's 1.8 million.

Broken down into nights, "The Rachel Maddow Show" took first place on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
