NBC and ABC split Monday primetime with the Stanley Cup Finals and “The Bachelorette,” respectively. Fox didn’t win anything at all with its “SYTYCD” season premiere.

To be fair to “So You Think You Can Dance,” it wasn’t the lowest-rated or least-watched summer season start of the evening. That unfortunate distinction goes to The CW’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

With its ice hockey, NBC topped the key 18-49 demographic. ABC was able to hold everyone else off in terms of total viewers.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.5 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 4.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. The Washington Capitals vs. Las Vegas Golden Knights ran throughout primetime. Due to the nature of live sports, these fast national Nielsen numbers for NBC are subject to significant adjustment.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.2/5 and first in viewers with 4.9 million. A two-hour “The Bachelorette” beginning at 8 p.m. posted a 1.6/7 and 5.8 million viewers. “The Crossing” at 10 managed a 0.6/3 and 3 million viewers.

CBS and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.6. Fox had a 3 share, CBS got a 2. CBS was third in total viewers with 4.4 million viewers, Fox was fourth with 2.8 million viewers.

For CBS, following reruns, “Elementary” at 10 received a 0.6/2 and 4.4 million viewers.

For Fox, “SYTYCD” at 8 had a 0.7/3 and 3.2 million viewers. A repeat followed.

The CW, Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, each with a 0.4/2. The CW was fifth in total viewers with 1.53 million, Univision was sixth with 1.51 million, and Telemundo was seventh with 1.1 million.

For CW, “Supergirl’ at 8 got a 0.5/2 and 1.9 million viewers. At 9, the “Whose Line?” premiere received a 0.3/1 and 1.1 million viewers. A second episode at 9:30 actually grew to a 0.4/2 and 1.3 million viewers.
