Ratings: ‘The Voice’ Inches Up; CBS Wins With NCAA Basketball

NCAA finals rise 7 percent from last year to give CBS a win

NBC's "The Voice" and "Revolution" grew marginally on Monday night, while CBS  took an overall win on the strength of the NCAA men's basketball championship, according to preliminary numbers.

CBS took a commanding first place in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic with a 5.5 rating/14 share and in total viewers with 15.9 million. Following repeats of "2 Broke Girls" and "The Big Bang Theory," the NCAA pre-game show at 9 p.m. posted a 4.4/11 — even with last year — and had 13.6 million total viewers. The game itself at 9:30 drew the night's best numbers, growing 7 percent in the demo from last year's equivalent game for a 7.5/19, and taking the night's largest total viewership with 20.7 million.

NBC came in second in ratings and total viewers with a 4.0/11 and 11.2 million. "The Voice" at 8 inched up from last Monday for a 4.9/13 and drew 13.7 million total viewers, while "Revolution" at 10 ticked up 5 percent to a 2.3/6 with 6.3 million total viewers.

ABC took third place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 11 million. "Dancing With the Stars" dipped 9 percent from last week to a season low of 2.0/5 — which also marked its lowest-rated performance episode ever — and took 12.9 million total viewers. A "Castle" repeat followed.

Fox tied Univision for fourth in ratings with a 1.6/4 and took fourth place outright in total viewers with 5.2 million, compared to Univision's 3.7 million. Following a "Bones" repeat at 8, "The Following" at 9 held steady with last week for a 2.2/5 and had 6.2 million total viewers.
