After starring in the hit Universal comedies “Bridesmaids” and “Pitch Perfect,” Rebel Wilson is reteaming with the studio and signing on to join Amanda Seyfried in the comedy “He’s F-ing Perfect,” TheWrap has learned.
Jake Szymanski will direct from a script by Lauryn Kahn, who used to be McKay’s assistant. Universal acquired the project out of turnaround from Fox 2000 which originally picked it up in a seven-figure spec deal back in October 2011.
Seyfried stars a girl who’s pessimistic about love and uses social media to vet her friends’ dates. When she finds what looks like the perfect guy, she decides to use her web-sleuthing skills to turn herself into his perfect match.
Wilson will play Seyfried’s carefree best friend and roommate who tries to make her understand that finding out everything about a boy before meeting them isn’t always a good thing.
SVP of production Erik Baiers and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee for the studio.
Wilson, who currently stars on the ABC sitcom “Super Fun Night,” just signed on for a supporting role in “Night at the Museum 3.” She’s represented by WME.
