Maria Shriver has tapped high-powered attorney Laura Wasser to represent her in divorce court, People reports.
Shriver recently announced that she was separating from her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger after nearly 25 years of marriage. This week, the picture of a marriage in free fall grew bleaker after Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he had an out-of-wedlock child.
Reportedly the mother of that child is Mildred Patricia Baena, the family's long-time housekeeper.
Wasser did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment, but she has extensive experience representing celebrities in divorce court. Most famously, she served as Robyn Moore's attorney during her breakup with actor Mel Gibson.
People reports that Wasser was hired before news of Schwarzenegger's love child broke.
