Weinstein Co. Taps Sarah Greenberg to Head Marketing and Publicity

Former Lionsgate marketing co-president left the studio was best known for her work on the “Saw” franchise and Tyler Perry movies

The Weinstein Company has named Sarah Greenberg to be head of marketing and publicity, the company confirmed.

Greenberg left her Los Angeles-based job as Lionsgate Films marketing co-president in December to pursue New York-based family interests.

The Weinstein post offers the advantage of being based in New York City, where Greenberg lives.

TheWrap first reported her exit from Lionsgate.

Neither Greenberg nor a spokesperson for the Weinstein Company responded to requests for comment.

Greenberg joined Lionsgate in 2003, after the studio merged with Artisan Entertainment, where she was head of home-entertainment publicity.

She is best known for overseeing the "Saw" horror franchise and Tyler Perry movies, but also has experience in the awards game, having handled publicity for the 2006 Best Picture winner "Crash" and 2009 nominee "Precious."

She will report to Harvey Weinstein.
