Rob Lowe Defends Paris Terror Attack Tweets

“The Grinder” star responds after criticizing French President Francois Hollande in wake of terrorist threat

Rob Lowe is defending his Twitter feed from backlash spawned by a series of tweets on Friday addressing the Paris terror attacks.

“Lived in France, and spend a ton of time there. Been in that stadium. This is all so devastatingly sad for a place I love. #FrenchPrayers,” Lowe tweeted.

After being criticized for earlier tweeting out “Vive La France!” the actor responded with another tweet that read, “Wow. For you trolls out there, the phrase ‘Vive La France’ is the traditional expression of SUPPORT for France. Don’t misinterpret my words.”

Following a series of coordinated terrorist attacks on Paris last Friday, the “Grinder” star posted a series of tweets regarding French President Francois Hollande that many viewed as offensive in light of the circumstances.

Lowe took to Twitter and wrote, “Oh, NOW France closes its borders,” adding the hashtag #Hollande, who declared a state of emergency and closed off France’s borders in the wake of the attacks.

The actor also tweeted regarding Hollande’s speech, “This is either the worst translation of an important speech ever, or one of the worst ever given.”

The backlash came quickly and strong, with one Twitter user proclaiming the actor “a piece of lowlife scum.”

Rob Lowe is quite honestly a piece of lowlife scum and if you havent seen his tweet please dont search for it its atrocious and upsetting,” the twitter user wrote.
