New ‘Rogue One’ TV Spot Is a ‘Dream’ for ‘Star Wars’ Fans (Video)

New TV spot teases everything to make loyalists happy — good vs. evil, the Rebels against the Empire and Darth Vader

As the countdown begins for the Dec. 16 opening of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” a new TV spot titled “Dream” teases everything to make loyalists happy — good vs. evil, the Rebels against the Empire and, of course, Darth Vader.

As audiences have learned from past trailers, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is drumming up support to rebel against the evil Galactic Empire as it works on a new super-weapon — the infamous Death Star seen in George Lucas’ first “Star Wars” movie.

In the new footage, the Rebels learn about the Death Star, which has the power to destroy an entire planet. A ragtag rebel militia led by Jyn Erso (Jones) is sent in to steal the plans for the under-construction Death Star in a mission that could be the last chance to defeat the Emperor.

“Save the rebellion! Save the dream!” Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) shouts at one point.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”), “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Jiang Wen.

The Disney and Lucasfilm release opens in theaters on December 16.
