Rosie O’Donnell is furious with the man who was discovered with her 17-year-old daughter after her recent disappearance and wants the world to know of his criminal past and drug history.
The former “View” host posted a photo of 25-year-old Steve Sheerer on Wednesday along with the caption: “charged wthird-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.” She went on to post links for or retweet news reports detailing his arrests
Sheerer was arrested and charged with third degree heroin possession in March 2012, Lt. Keith Germain of the Barnegat Police Department told TheWrap. “He has been arrested on numerous occasions over the years, including for drug possession, driving under the influence and disorderly conduct,” Lt. Germain said.
Chelsea O’Donnell was found at Sheerer’s home in Barnegat, New Jersey, Tuesday following her disappearance with her dog, Bear, on Aug. 11 from the family home in Nyack, New York.
“In this case, we didn’t have any evidence to substantiate criminal charges,” Lt. Germain said, stating that Chelsea was “cooperative and friendly. She was not held against her will. There was no indication that drugs were involved and no paraphernalia was found at the house.”
It has been reported that the teenager met Sheerer on the dating app Tinder.
Rosie posted a series of tweets about Sheerer on Wednesday, including the confession that “no mom is perfect” and the pledge: “when someone u love is drowning in the rapids – u throw everything u can into the water – hoping they will grab on – stay afloat.”
In March 2012, Sheerer and Emily Loudis were both arrested after being stopped with heroin and drug paraphernalia in their car, along with Loudis’ 3- and 1-year-old children in the back seat, according to the Barnegat Patch.
Both were held on $75,000 bail and charged with possession of heroin and endangering the welfare of Loudis’ children.
Chelsea O’Donnell is the oldest of three children that Rosie had with her ex, Kelli Carpenter. At the time of her disappearance, O’Donnell said that her daughter had stopped taking her medication and was in need of medical attention.
