Scott Rudin, who’s already in the thick of the awards race with “The Social Network” and the upcoming “True Grit,” has been named recipient of the 2010 David O. Selznick Achievement Award by the Producers Guild of America.
The award will be given to Rudin at the 22nd annual PGA Awards ceremony on January 22, 2011.
Rudin’s films include “No Country for Old Men,” “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “There Will Be Blood,” “The Queen,” “The Royal Tennenbaums,” “Wonder Boys,” “The Truman Show,” “Zoolander” and “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.”
He won a Best Picture Oscar for "No Country for Old Men," and was nominated for "The Hours."
He is also producing the upcoming English-language version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," from "Social Network" director David Fincher.
“Scott Rudin’s body of work speaks for itself,” said PGA co-presidents Hawk Koch and Mark Gordon in the press release announcing the honor. “He has impressively set a high bar for filmmaking and the Guild is proud to honor him with the Selznick Award this year.”
Last year’s winner was Pixar founder John Lasseter. Past winners include Billy Wilder, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, Stanley Kramer, Saul Zaentz, Clint Eastwood, Robert Evans and Jerry Bruckheimer.
