Scott Weiland’s Wildabouts Bandmate Arrested for Cocaine Possession

The rock band’s guitarist arrested and booked for Probable Cause Felony 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance

Scott Weiland’s bandmate Thomas Black has been arrested on drug possession charges in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Bloomington Police Department told TheWrap on Friday that detectives executed a search warrant on Weiland’s tour bus following the musician’s death Thursday night, leading to the discovery of a “small quantity of suspected controlled substance that field tested positive as cocaine.”

Black was subsequently placed under arrest for Probable Cause Felony 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Weiland, the former Stone Temple Pilots frontman, was discovered unconscious on his tour bus during a stop in Minnesota with his band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts.

“Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts,” a message on the musician’s Facebook page read. “At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”
