Screen Media Picks Up ‘Pippa Lee’

Film, written and directed by Rebecca Miller, will be released in October.

Screen Media Films has acquired U.S. rights to "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," starring Robin Wright Penn and Alan Arkin.

The film, written and directed by Rebecca Miller and based on her novel, had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and will be released in October.

 

Dramatic comedy, based on Miller’s book, revolves around a woman whose life changes after moving to a Connecticut retirement community with her husband.

Dede Gardner and Lemore Syvan are producers on the project, and it was executive produced by Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner, Jean-Luc De Fanti and Jeff Sagansky.  

 

Screen Media’s 2009 slate includes "Death in Love," starring Josh Lucas, Jacqueline Bisset and Adam Brody. The company is best known for "Sherrybaby," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal; Kevin Bacon’s directorial debut, Loverboy, starring Kyra Sedgwick and Matt Dillon; and the Emmy-nominated "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan" on National Geographic.
