An elderly couple, Willka (Sun) and Phaxsi (Moon), struggle to survive with limited resources in a harsh, remote part of the Andes as they pray to the gods and wait for their only son Antuco (Star) to return from the city where he has gone to seek a better life. Despite their solitude, Willka and Phaxsi wake up every morning embraced by the illusion of hope.
This film won Best First Film, Best Cinematography and the Feisal Prize for Ibero-American Fiction Feature at the Guadalajara Film Festival.
This film is Peru’s entry in the Oscar’s foreign-language film category.
