‘Veep’ Season 6 Trailer Sees Selina Meyer Vow to Destroy Jonah Ryan in (Video)

Emmy-winning series starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns to HBO on April 16

Is Selina Meyer draining the swamp?

In the trailer for the sixth season of HBO’s “Veep,” which premiered at the show’s panel at SXSW Monday, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character is working outside the government as a private citizen in order to get back at Senator Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simons) and everyone else in her administration who wronged her.

During Season 5 of HBO’s Emmy-winning show, Meyer found herself losing a tight race in the election for president, with Congress electing a different woman to office who proceeded to take credit for some of Meyer’s accomplishments in her brief term in office.

Now after she took “this opportunity to reacquaint myself with an old friend of mine by the name of Selina Meyer,” she’s hitting the streets to help the community. She’s like Princess Di! There are land mines everywhere here.

“I will destroy you in ways that are so creative, they will honor me for it at the Kennedy Center,” Meyer says to Ryan in the trailer.

The rest of the clip is a bit too profane to print, in a way that “Veep” does so well. But rest assured that Season 6 will reunite Louis-Dreyfus with her co-stars Matt Walsh, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Gary Cole and Kevin Dunn.

“Veep” returns April 16 at 10:30 p.m. on HBO.
