As part of the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Electronic Arts unveiled a new trailer for “Star Wars: Battlefront II,” the upcoming sequel to the 2015 reboot of the hit multiplayer video game series.
The trailer features Iden Versio ( played by “Sleepy Hollow” star Janina Gavankar), commander of an elite special forces unit for the Empire called the Inferno Squad, as she suits up for the Battle of Endor in “Return of the Jedi.” Of course, the Empire is defeated in that battle, and Versio watches in shock as the Second Death Star is destroyed.
Fast forward to the events of “The Force Awakens,” where Versio is now a part of the First Order and vows to avenge Emperor Palpatine by crushing Leia Organa’s Resistance.
Developed by EA Dice with Motive Studios and Criterion, “Battlefront II” will allow “Star Wars”-loving gamers to jump into battles from the original trilogy, prequels and the new saga that began with “The Force Awakens.”
The trailer features characters from all eras of the series, including Darth Maul, Yoda, Luke Skywalker and — making his “Battlefront” debut — Kylo Ren.
“Star Wars: Battlefront II” hits stores Nov. 17, one month before the premiere of the next movie in the “Star Wars” saga, “The Last Jedi.”
