‘Star Wars’ Fans Easily Identify Galactic Senators, But Can’t Name a Single US Senator (Video)

“Star Wars” fans have an easier time naming Galactic Senators than real-life U.S. Senators.

In a new Fandango clip, Dan Perrault takes viewers to the TCL Chinese Theatre, where fans with tickets to see the movie have been camping out for two weeks. He decides to ask “The Line Awakens” participators questions about “Star Wars” versus real life.

“What creature did Han and Luke use to stay warm in Hoth’s frigid temperatures?” he asked.

“A tauntaun!” one fan responded.

“At what temperature does water boil?” Perrault asked next, but the fan couldn’t answer that question.

Perrault asked other fans on Hollywood Boulevard whether they could name a member of the Galactic Senate. They could, but they couldn’t name a single member of the U.S. Senate.

“That’s embarrassing, I do not know that,” said one fan, who was actually there to officiate a wedding between two fans at the Chinese Theatre. “You don’t want to ask me political questions.”

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens Friday.
