Starz Strikes Deal With 20th Century Fox to Air ‘Ice Age,’ ‘X-Men,’ Others

Other titles under agreement include "Big Momma’s House" and "Dude, Where’s My Car?"

Starz has struck a multi-year licensing agreement with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution to air numerous titles from the Fox film library including the "Ice Age," "X-Men," "Home Alone" franchises, among others.

The films will air on Starz and Encore, as well as their HD counterparts and online platforms such as Starz Play and Encore Play.

Other films under the agreement include "Big Momma’s House," the 2001 version of "Planet of the Apes," "Dodgeball," "Dude, Where’s My Car?" and "How Stella Got Her Groove Back."

"This agreement with Fox will fortify our pipeline of popular theatrical library content through the end of the decade and is a great complement to our exclusive originals, first-run movies, and other popular movie fare," Michael Thornton, Starz's executive vice president, acquisitions, business & legal affairs said, adding that the newly licensed films "will be a great addition for our loyal subscribers."
