“I’ve never been more excited for the ‘Late Show’ in my life,” writes one fan on Twitter

Stephen Colbert made his highly-anticipated debut on the “Late Show” Tuesday and millions of viewers who were glued to their TVs also simultaneously shared their opinions of the premiere on social media.

David Letterman‘s replacement on the long-running CBS late-night show welcomed George Clooney and Jeb Bush as his first guests, along with bandleader Jon Batiste and his entourage, Stay Human.

However, it was Colbert’s sugary feeding frenzy that turned out to be the biggest hit on social media after a skit comparing the media coverage of Donald Trump to eating Oreos.

“Damn you … now I want Oreos and all I have is grapes,” one user wrote.

A shout-out to former “Daily Show” colleague Jon Stewart was another winner, being described on Twitter as “pure class.”

It wasn’t just fans tweeting about Colbert on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, rival late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and James Corden sent their support.

“To our friends at @colbertlateshow, congrats on your first show and hopefully dozens more. Break a finger,” Fallon wrote, in reference to his own busted digit.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
