“Straight Outta Compton,” “Carol” and “The Diary of a Teenage Girl” won awards for their music supervision on Thursday night at the sixth annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards in Los Angeles.
“Compton” won the award for a film over $25 million, while “Carol” won for a film under $25 million and “Teenage Girl” was honored for a film under $5 million.
“The Wrecking Crew” won in the documentary category, while the award for best song from a feature film went to “See You Again” from “Furious 7,” a song that was surprisingly not nominated by the Academy’s Music Branch.
In the television categories, awards went to “Narcos,” “Empire,” “The Voice” and “Bessie.”
The Guild of Music Supervisors was founded in 2010. Its awards show took place at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, with presenters who included Joe Walsh, Perry Farrell and Junkie XL, and performances by Meghan Trainor, Andra Day and BØRNS.
