unnamedSharon Waxman – CEO and Editor in Chief of TheWrap, Sharon is an award-winning journalist and best-selling author, a former Hollywood correspondent for The New York Times and a leading authority on the entertainment business and media. Before the Times, she was a correspondent for eight years for The Washington Post. She started out as a foreign correspondent, covering Europe and the Middle East for a decade. She is the founder and CEO of The Wrap, and the author of two books, including, “Rebels on the Backlot: Six Maverick Directors and How They Conquered the Hollywood Studio System.”

DerekCallow350Derek Callow – Director & Global Head of Creator Marketing, Derek joined Google in March 2006 for the YouTube business based in San Francisco. In his current role he overseas all marketing programs & messaging to the YouTube Creator Community. Before his internal move to this role in early 2013 Derek lead marketing for the overall Google brand in Southeast Asia based in Singapore. He oversaw all marketing activities in the region. Prior to joining Google, Derek was a senior consultant with Accenture, and was responsible CRM and strategy related project delivery within the telecommunications and financial services sectors across South East Asia. Previous to Accenture, Derek was a consultant in Ogilvy & Mather’s CRM and marketing strategy unit in Hong Kong and previously in their Brussels office. With Ogilvy, Derek was responsible for business origination and strategy development in the travel, financial services, logistics & technology sectors. Derek received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Bournemouth, and his Master of Business Administration degree from the Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles.

 

cohen pictureJay Cohen – Partner & Head of Film Finance & Distribution at The Gersh Agency, Jay has over 25 years of combined business, film and TV experience.  He currently is a Partner and Head of Film Finance and Distribution at The Gersh Agency, one of Hollywood’s oldest and largest talent agencies with seventy five-agents and offices in Los Angeles and New York.  At Gersh, he oversees a department which reps multiple equity funds, sells finished films, and consults on independent financing for a wide spectrum of independent projects.

 

 

David-White-and-Mark-Hoffstater11Marc Hofstatter – Film Lead at Indiegogo, A veteran of the film industry for fifteen years, Marc Hofstatter leads film and digital for global crowd funding platform, Indiegogo. Originally from New York, he began his career at Bingham Ray’s indie film label, October Films. Hofstatter later transitioned to Los Angeles, moving to the William Morris Agency. Following his time at the historic agency he went on to serve as a production executive on both the Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox lots. During that time he helped oversee production on such projects as Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, A Single Man and The Golden Compass. Before arriving at Indiegogo, Hofstatter worked as an independent producer and collaborated with such filmmakers as Chris Weitz, Tom Ford, Peter Sollett, J. Michael Straczynski and Shari Berman & Robert Pulcini.

At Mandalay Vision Rhodes recently completed The Voices (Panorama Media), directed by Marjane Satrapi and starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick, Gemma Arterton and Jacki Weaver.  Rhodes is also producing Dark Places (Exclusive Media), based on Gillian Flynn’s best selling novel of the same name, directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and starring Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Christina Hendricks.

In addition to managing the Mandalay Vision slate, Rhodes recently produced the upcoming release Bad Country (Sony), directed by Chris Brinker and starring Matt Dillon and Willem Dafoe and the 2012 action thriller Fire With Fire (Lionsgate/Voltage), directed by David Barrett and starring Bruce Willis, Josh Duhamel and Rosario Dawson.  Rhodes is also awaiting release of Miramax’s romantic comedy Nailed, directed by David O. Russell and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel, James Marsden, Catherine Keener, and Tracy Morgan.

 

avc_badge_smallAlicia Van Couvering – Producer, Alicia’s first film as a producer, Lena Dunham’s TINY FURNITURE, won the SXSW Film Festival in 2010 as well as accolades from the Independent Spirit Awards, Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Awards and many more. She went on to produce Ry Russo-Young’s NOBODY WALKS, a Sundance 2012 Competition film starring John Krasinski, as well as Joe Swanberg’s DRINKING BUDDIES, starring Olivia Wilde and Anna Kendrick. Her latest, Swanberg’s HAPPY CHRISTMAS, will premiere at Sundance this year. Other production credits include Whit Stillman’s DAMSELS IN DISTRESS, Steve Kessler’s PAUL WILLIAMS: STILL ALIVE and Andrew Zuchero’s award-winning short film, THE APOCALYPSE. She is a contributing editor to Filmmaker Magazine, a professor at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, a Creative Producing Fellow of the Sundance Institute, and in 2013 she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for “Producer of the Year.”
