‘Survivor’ Host Jeff Probst Signs on for Talk Show

Hour-long daytime program will tackle topics ranging from newsmakers of the day to families with problems

Jeff Probst has signed a deal with CBS Television Distribution to develop his own talk show, the company announced on Monday.

The one-hour daytime show will covering topics ranging from newsmakers of the day to families and individuals facing problems, according to CBS. It will debut in Fall 2012.

The "Survivor" host, who described himself as fascinated with human nature, will continue with the competition show. 

Probst has also filled in regularly for Regis Philbin on "Live With Regis and Kelly," and was a frequent guest host on "Larry King Live."

CBS Television Distribution president of programming and development Aaron Meyerson said of the new venture, "Like Jeff, the show will encourage action, change and discovery. We are very fortunate to have him."
