Warner Bros. TV has promoted Susan Rovner and Brett Paul to become presidents of Warner Bros. TV.

The two will continue to serve in the same role for Warner Horizon Scripted Television, which they have done since 2014. Rovner and Paul were most recently executive vice presidents at Warner Bros. TV. Both will report to Peter Roth, Warner Bros TV Group president and chief content officer.

In her new role, Rovner will have responsibility for creative affairs at both WBTV and Warner Horizon. She will continue to oversee WBTV’s drama and comedy development teams, while adding oversight for the current programming group.

Under Rovner, Warner Bros. TV has developed “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,” “Riverdale,” “Gotham,” “Castle Rock,” “Shrill,” “Westworld” and upcoming series “Watchmen,” and Hulu’s “Veronica Mars” revival. WBTV also had four pilots picked up for the broadcast 2019-20 season: “Batwoman,” “Katy Keene,” “All Rise,” and “Prodigal Son.”

Under Paul, WB TV has signed deals with Chuck Lorre, Greg Berlanti, J.J. Abrams/Bad Robot Productions, Michael Patrick King, Damon Lindelof, John Wells Productions, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Archie Comics, Inc., and many others, most recently Ava DuVernay and Mindy Kaling. He has also overseen the talent agreements, including the long-term renegotiations for the casts of “The Big Bang Theory,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Shameless,” “Supernatural,” and many others.

“Susan and Brett have been fundamental to the success of the Warner Bros. Television Group for more than 20 years. At Warner Bros., we are incredibly fortunate to be associated with some of the most accomplished writers, producers and creative talent in the world. Through a combination of great passion to discover new material, a world-class collaborative spirit, insightful guidance and a restless vision for the future, Susan has been instrumental in creating an environment that allows these generational talents to flourish,” Roth said. “As the division’s top negotiator and advisor, Brett’s thoughtful counsel, creative approach to dealmaking, and expansive view of the television landscape has been instrumental to ensuring that Warner Bros. is well positioned for sustained growth and success over the next 20 years, during a time of great opportunity in our industry.”

Roth is currently part of the interim leadership team at Warner Bros. Entertainment, along with motion pictures group chairman Toby Emmerich and CFO Kim Williams. In March, Kevin Tsujihara stepped down as CEO and chairman of the studio, amid an ongoing investigation into a relationship with actress Charlotte Kirk, and whether there was any impropriety in the casting of Kirk in Warner Bros. films.
