Ted Nugent to Attend State of the Union Address as Congressman’s Guest

Congressman who threatened Obama with impeachment to pal around with Ted Nugent at State of the Union address

When President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address on Tuesday, Ted Nugent will be on hand. And no, he won't be serving as musical guest to play Obama onto the stage with a rousing rendition of "Wango Tango."

“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama,” said Stockman. “After the Address I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”

Earlier this year, Stockman said that he was considering launching impeachment proceedings against Obama, if the president should use executive action to enact new gun control regulations.

“The White House’s recent announcement they will use executive orders and executive actions to infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms is an unconstitutional and unconscionable attack on the very founding principles of this republic,” Stockman said in January. “I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment.”

Nugent, of course, hasn't been shy about his thoughts on Obama, either. During the 2012 annual meeting of the National Rifle Association in April, the "Cat Scratch Fever" rocker issued what some people considered a veiled threat on the president's life, when he compared the Obama administration to a coyote that should be killed.

"If the coyote's in your living room pissing on your couch, it's not the coyote's fault; it's your fault for not shooting him," Nugent said.

At the same meeting, the singer/guitarist also predicted that Obama's re-election would likely lead to Nugent's incarceration or demise.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” he predicted.

Naturally, according to Stockman, Nugent will be available for media interviews before and after the address.
