Terrence Jenkins Announces ‘E! News’ Exit: ‘Thank You Guys From the Bottom of My Heart’ (Video)

Host departs after nearly three-year run as co-anchor of entertainment news program

“E! News” co-anchor Terrence Jenkins announced his departure from the entertainment news program on Tuesday.

Following changes to the show’s line up over the summer, Jenkins announced that Wednesday will be his final show, saying that he is leaving to focus instead on acting and producing.

“Seventeen years, that’s a long time,” Jenkins said of his career as a host, “And I think in order for someone to grow it’s important that you try new things and you create new challenges, create new dreams for yourself.”

The departure comes after this summer’s on-air talent shuffle that saw longtime host Giuliana Rancic replaced by Maria Menounos.

“I love you guys to the bottom of my heart,” Jenkins said to colleagues Menounos, Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy. “I love this crew, I love working with you guys; but it’s important I grow and I wanted to leave on my own terms and when I was ready.”

“Always bet on yourself, never get too comfortable, and follow your dreams no matter what!” Jenkins tweeted after the news was announced.

The host also thanked his fans for their support.
