‘The Operatives’ Teases Race Against Time in Turtle Rescue (Exclusive Video)

Pivot’s environmental docuseries takes on illegal trading in Season 2 premiere

Pete Bethune and his team are back to rescue endangered animals on Season 2 premiere of Pivot’s “The Operatives.”

In the Season 2 premiere, the operatives take on alleged illegal turtle traders in the Philippines. The team join local authorities to raid a property after receiving a tip that critically endangered turtles are being stored on site.

In this exclusive clip (above), Bethune and the crew climb into a van and travel deep into the jungle to a residence that may be housing illegal turtles. But as they speed toward the house, they come across a boy riding a bike with a tarp-wrapped package heading in the opposite direction.

Though it’s deduced that the boy is probably not riding away with the stolen turtles and the team continues on, doubt lingers, even after they pull up to the house and discover a large number of people milling about.

“The Operatives” premiers Sunday, Oct 18 at 10 p.m. ET on Pivot.
