The moment “X-Files” fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: Mulder and Scully just had sex on TV.
Granted, it was in a sketch for Jimmy Kimmel, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a sight to see since it was never shown on the actual Fox series.
The FBI agents played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson let their passion fly while investigating a case when a new agent (Kimmel) tells the pair they should just get it over with. After a moment’s hesitation, the two pile on top of each other on a nearby table and make fan fiction writers’ wet dreams come true.
The sketch, as a whole, was about Mulder and Scully coming to grips with the fact that it’s no longer the 1990s and they are not as technologically adept as they used to be.
In an interview later on the show, Anderson and Duchovny discussed the fact that they did not get along so well when filming the original series.
Anderson began to explain that the show was shot in Vancouver, which is very “moist,” before she broke down laughing. After collecting herself, she continued.
“My hair gets very frizzy…It takes forever. Between every single take, they’d have to stand there and blow-dry my hair again and things take a long time,” Anderson said.
“And I got pissed at that?” Duchovny asked.
“Well, I think it added to the tension,” she said. “The fact I took so long — is that anything to do with it?”
