Producer Tom Leach has signed an unscripted first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop and produce large-scale global TV formats and series under his new production company, Media RED.

This follows Media RED’s recent development deals with FYI, Pivot, Funny or Die and Red Bull TV.

“Sony Pictures Television is the industry’s largest independent television studio and this deal will allow me to dream big and work on packaging series with some of the best and brightest talent and brands around the world,” Leach said in a statement Friday.

Prior to launching Media RED, Leach worked as the youngest ever Vice President of Development & Current Programming under Mark Burnett at One Three Media where he developed and sold “Space Race” to NBC with Burnett and Richard Branson, as well as produced TBS’ “Trust Me, I’m a Game Show Host.”

Leach also spearheaded internal format development at Discovery Channel and helped develop the first two seasons of the global documentary series, “Curiosity: The Questions of Life.”

Media RED is represented by Rebel Entertainment Partners and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein & Lezcano.
