Toronto: Christopher Plummer Joins John Travolta in ‘The Forger’

Philip Martin is directing the heist film, which co-stars Tye Sheridan

Oscar winner Christopher Plummer is set to join John Travolta and Tye Sheridan in heist film “The Forger,” which is being produced and co-financed by Code Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group.

Philip Martin is directing the film, which will be produced by Code’s Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso, along with Prospect Park’s Rob Carliner. Jonathan Dana and Randi Michel will executive produce alongside The Solution’s Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel. Anson Downes and Linda Favila will serve as co-executive producers.

Written by Richard D’Ovidio (“The Call”), “The Forger” follows former child art prodigy and petty thief Ray Cutter (Travolta), who arranges to buy his way out of prison so he can spend time with his ailing son (Sheridan). Ray and his father (Plummer) must come together to carry out one last big job for the syndicate that financed his early release.

The project is currently in pre-production, as principal photography will start in October in Boston.

The Solution is handling international sales in Toronto, with WME Global and ICM Partners handling domestic sales.

Christopher Plummer brings elegance and class to an already astonishing cast. ‘The Forger’ team welcomes Mr. Plummer with open arms and feels truly fortunate to include his enormous talents,” said Corley.

“We feel privileged to have the legendary Christopher Plummer joining the cast of ‘The Forger.’ His extraordinary presence on screen is a welcome addition to the great cast featuring John Travolta and Tye Sheridan,” said Wilson and Nestel.

Plummer, who just won an Oscar for his supporting performance in “Beginners,” is currently filming “Imagine” with Al Pacino. He’s repped by ICM Partners and The Pitt Group.
