Tracey Ullman Joins CBS Comedy Pilot ‘Good Session’

Ullman will play a therapist who uses insight and humor to get the truth out of her patients

Tracey Ullman is going into therapy for CBS.

Ullman (“The Tracey Ullman Show,” “State of the Union”) has been cast in the network’s comedy pilot “Good Session,” from Matt Miller (“Chuck”) and John Hamburg (“Meet the Parents”).

The single-camera pilot centers on a happy couple who decide to see a therapist to help them decide if they should have a baby, and quickly discover that they have more to discuss.

Ullman will play Ellen, an astute, straightforward therapist who uses her own brand of insight and humor to inspire the couples she helps to tell the truth.

The cast also includes James Roday (“Psych”) and Rich Sommer (“The Devil Wears Prada”).

Miller and Hamburg are writing and executive producing, with Hamburg also directing.

Warner Bros. Television is producing.
