Trevor Noah’s First ‘Daily Show’ Teaser Is Out: Same Chair, Different Ass And Kanye (Video)

Comedian takes over long-running Comedy Central show on Sept. 28

Trevor Noah struts onto “The Daily Show’s” set to the sound of Kanye West’s song “Power” in the first trailer for his upcoming debut on the Comedy Central flagship.

In the brief clip released Tuesday, Noah settles into the seat previously occupied by Jon Stewart as the words “Same Chair. Different Ass” flash across the screen.

Noah takes over the satirical news show following Stewart’s Aug. 6 departure, which drew in 3.5 million viewers, and also brought back a slew of former correspondents like Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and John Oliver.

Noah, a South African comedian, first joined “The Daily Show” in December. During an appearance at the TCA press tour in July, Noah said he understands that comparisons to Stewart will be inevitable, but reminded the audience that his predecessor built his reputation over the course of 16 years. “I hope in time to have the same impact,” Noah said.

Noah will make his “Daily Show” debut on Sept. 26.
