Trump Denies He Was Asked to Marry Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough: ‘Not True’

POTUS calls Brzezinski ”Psycho“ twice during tweet storm

President Donald Trump lashed out at “Morning Joe” co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough Tuesday morning, tweeting it’s “not true” he was asked to preside over their wedding.

In the series of posts, which also extended his four-day-long attack on Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings, he referred to Brzezinski as “Psycho” — twice.

Trump tweeted, “Wow! Morning Joe & Psycho ratings have really crashed. Very small audience. People are tired of hearing Fake News delivered with an anger that is not to be believed. Sad, when the show was sane, they helped get me elected. Thanks! Was on all the time. Lost all of its juice!”

Almost two hours later, he followed up, “Just reminded my staff that Morning Joe & Psycho were with me in my room, at their request, the night I won New Hampshire. Likewise, followed me to other states….”

Finally, he concluded, “….Don’t watch show, but heard Mika said I asked to preside over their marriage. Not true–does anyone really believe that? They were married by Elijah, King of Baltimore!”

A 2017 Vanity Fair profile of the couple included an anecdote about Trump saying the duo “could have the President of the United States marry them.” In fact, it was Cummings who ended up officiating the ceremony last fall, a few months before Trump would attack Baltimore by calling it a “rat and rodent infested mess.”

Scarborough called on Republican officials to defend Cummings Monday morning.

A representative for NBC Universal did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
