Bell’s Abe Woodhull tries to get his father (Kevin R. McNally) to take a stand against the British military in AMC spy series

Things take a grave turn on the next episode of AMC’s “Turn.”

During the episode, Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell) and his father Richard (Kevin R. McNally) grapple with Major Hewlett’s orders to dig up the town’s gravestones.

“I don’t know which is worse — his lack of military experience or his delusions of grandeur,” judge and British loyalist Richard bristles while discussing the orders with his son. “He’s been obstinate, capricious.”

“You have been compelled to do something unjust,” Abe, a budding spy for the American revolution, tells his father. “And when a man is compelled to do something, he either submits, or…”

“He rebels,” Richard finishes.

“Tell Hewlett that it can’t be done or [the townspeople will] revolt,” Abe urges his father. “Call his bluff and he will back down.”

During Sunday’s episode, spy ring leader Benjamin Tallmadge (Seth Numrich) and  Caleb Brewster (Daniel Hershall) attempt to relay their intelligence to General George Washington (Ian Kahn).

“Turn” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC. Until then, catch a glimpse of the episode in the video.
