‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage Dies in Car Accident

Pro grappler, 58, suffered heart attack while driving

Pro wrestling legend "Macho Man" Randy Savage died in Tampa, Florida, on Friday morning in a car accident. Savage, born Randall Mario Poffo, was 58.

The flamboyant and rasby-voiced WWF grappler, known for his catchphrase, "Oooooh yeaaaahhh" and his signature diving elbow drop, suffered a heart attack behind the wheel at approximately 10 a.m. and lost control of his car, his brother Lanny Poffo, told TMZ. .

Savage, who entered the WWF in 1985, gained further fame with a series of commercials for the beef snack Slim Jim. He had recently celebrated his first anniversary with his second wife, Lynn Payne.

A spokesperson for the Tampa Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
