Tom Hanks let slip the F-word live on "Good Morning America" while doing the voice of one of his characters in the new film "Cloud Atlas."
"GMA" interviewer Elizabeth Vargas asked Hanks if he could do the heavily accented voice, and Hanks warned that it involved a lot of cursing. He gave it a shot anyway, and — whoops — said the word.
Everyone involved quickly apologized, starting with Vargas.
"I've never done that before," added Hanks. "I would say to the kids in America that are watching this right now. And let me say next time I'm on the show there will be a seven-second delay."
And then they moved on.
The Parents Television Council quickly issued a statement that it was time for the networks to "step up, take responsibility for what they broadcast, and ensure that this never happens again."
