Producers are hoping to create some memorable moments by uniting four pairs of women during the 65th Emmy Awards airing Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c.
Each pair is notable in its own way:
Washington and Carroll represent Emmy-nominated black actresses from two generations. “Saturday Night Live” alums Fey and Poehler reunite after co-hosting the 70th Golden Globes. The Deschanel sisters, though both starring on the same network, have never been on the Emmy stage together. And Janney and Faris play mom and daughter on their new CBS comedy, “Mom.”
Earlier this week, the awards shows announced that HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra” stars Matt Damon and Michael Douglass will be presenting, as well. It would be the first time both actors will present on the Emmy stage.
