U.K.’s Channel 4 Signs YouTube Deal

In broadcast first, network will put full-length shows on video site for free — in Britain.

Channel 4 became the world’s first broadcaster to sign a long-form content deal with Google-owned website YouTube. Beginning next year, U.K. Web surfers will be able to watch full-length TV shows for free.

YouTube last week unveiled a U.K. portal providing thousands of hours of long-form content.
