Who can turn the world on with her smile? Kimmy Schmidt, of course!
The first teaser for Season 4 of Netflix “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” sees Ellie Kemper return as our heroine, who in the last installment’s finale signed on for a job at a startup.
Now Kimmy is taking her first real stab at being a working girl (and is totally nailing it, BTW).
In an obvious shoutout to Mary Tyler Moore, our titular character gets ready for her day in a montage set to her own theme song. “Sometimes it feels like the world is so wide and you don’t get a second look!” the track goes, as Kimmy wakes up smiling, picks out an adorable pantsuit and walks through the streets of the Big Apple on her way to the office.
At one point she even flings her hat in the air just to really drive home the tribute — but it gets stuck in a tree and never comes back down. Oh, well!
Yes, everything is coming up Kimmy, until she is asked to fire someone that is. Cue: record scratch sound effect.
Season 4 of Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” will premiere in two halves.
The first six episodes of the sitcom are set to launch together on May 30. The second half will follow later in the year with another release of episodes. “Kimmy” also stars Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess and Carol Kane.
Netflix usually posts all episodes of a new season at the same time, allowing for a subscriber to determine consumption.
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” hails from Universal Television in association with 3 Arts Entertainment, Little Stranger, Inc. and Bevel Gears for Netflix. Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Sam Means, Jeff Richmond and David Miner executive produce the comedy.
