Viacom to Pay Quarterly Dividend of 40 Cents Per Share

Class A and B shareholders will be paid out in January

Viacom announced Wednesday that its board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.40 per share.

The dividend applies to both Class A and B common stock. The dividend will be payable on Jan. 4, 2016 to stockholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2015.

Viacom will announce its Q4 earnings on Nov. 12. The company has suffered a number of high-level executive exits, including MTV president Stephen Friedman, who resigned in Sept., and Suzanne Daniels, who exited her role as MTV programming president in July.

VH1 announced earlier on today that executive vice president of original programming & production Susan Levison is exiting that position.

Viacom’s stock price was hit harder than any other media company’s in August during a sell-off sparked by fears over cable cord-cutting. The company had reported lower-than-expected revenues at the time.
