MTV released the first trailer for Vin Diesel‘s “The Last Witch Hunter” on Wednesday.
In the trailer, Michael Caine provides a voiceover in which he tells Diesel’s character, “You are the greatest soldier … in a war between our world and the next.”
Diesel plays immortal witch hunter Kaulder, who must take up arms when the ancient and evil Witch Queen (Julie Engelbrecht) is resurrected.
In addition to Diesel, Caine and Engelbrecht, the film also stars Elijah Wood and “Game of Thrones” alum Rose Leslie. Breck Eisner directed the film for Summit Entertainment, while Cory Goodman, Matt Sazama, and Burk Sharpless wrote the screenplay.
Diesel most recently starred in “Fast and Furious 7,” which has already grossed over $1 billion at the box office. The James Wan-directed action sequel, which stars Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker, is the highest-grossing Universal film of all time.
“The Last Witch Hunter” opens in theaters October 23.
