A man who had been binge-watching “The Walking Dead” claims that he killed his friend because he thought the pal was turning into a zombie.

Damon Perry of Prewitt, New Mexico, told police that he beat Christopher Paquin to death with an electric guitar and a microwave.

The 23-year-old admitted to fatally attacking Paquin on Thursday after watching episodes of the AMC horror drama on Netflix while drinking “multiple” 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor at a relative’s apartment, Grants Police spokesman Moses Marquez told NBC News.

Perry claims Paquin, also 23, tried to bite him, so he “reacted by brutally beating” him. Following the violent attack involving kitchen appliances, he then left the apartment and began chasing neighbors with a knife, according to Marquez.

When officers arrived at the apartment complex at around 1 p.m., two maintenance workers were restraining Perry in an apartment doorway.

Perry has been charged with an open count of murder and is being held at the Cibola County Detention Center in Milan, New Mexico.
