(Spoiler Alert: Do not keep reading if you have not seen this week’s episode of “The Walking Dead”)
The midseason finale of “The Walking Dead” looks like it will feature yet another character meeting their end courtesy of Negan.
In a sneak peek of the episode, we see Saviors in Alexandria unloading a truck most likely containing the supplies Rick and Aaron scavenged from the houseboat they discovered at the end of this week’s episode.
We then immediately cut to a shot of Negan, now freshly shaven, walking away from Rick with noticeable blood splatter on his clothes and face. The preview ends with Rick staring into the camera with the same terrified expression we have seen so often when Negan threatens him.
Given Negan’s penchant for brutal murder (and the fact that producers probably want to end the midseason on a high note), we will most likely see him kill another member of the Alexandria community to keep Rick in line.
Or, as we saw Negan playing house with Carl, Judith, and Olivia, perhaps he will tell Rick that he killed one of them as a punishment for Carl’s failed ambush and we will be left with another cliffhanger, like the Season 6 finale. Considering how the first one went over, that may not be a good option.
“The Walking Dead” midseason finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m./8c.
