Warner Bros. Pits ‘Hereafter’ Against ‘Paranormal Activity 2’

The studio will also release “Life As We Know It” on Oct. 8 after sneaking the rom-com on Saturday night

Warner Bros. has announced that it will open Clint Eastwood's "Hereafter" in limited release on Oct. 15 before going wide with the supernatural drama the following week, when it will square off against "Paranormal Activity 2."

Audiences in New York City, Los Angeles and Toronto will be given the first chance to see Matt Damon as a psychic struggling to cope with his powers, while everyone else will have to wait until Oct. 22 to see Cecile DeFrance's TV journalist nearly drown in a tsunami.

Peter Morgan's script follows three separate storylines, including those listed above and another featuring Frankie and George McClaren as twins who are separated when one of them dies in an accident.

Eastwood's self-described "chick flick" earned mixed reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Additionally, WB will sneak Greg Berlanti's "Life As We Know It" on approximately 800 screens this Saturday night.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel star in the romantic dramedy, which boasts a well-received trailer that could help the film exceed expectations at the box office.

"Life As We Know It" opens wide on Oct. 8 against a horde of Hollywood competition.
