Warner Premiere Enlists Singer, McG for Digital Productions

“H+” and “Aim” will be released on the Internet before exploiting more traditional distribution platforms

Warner Premiere, the Time Warner division devoted to creating original online content, is drawing on big-name Hollywood directors to start two live-action, multi-platform digital series.

“X-Men” director Bryan Singer will produce the sci-fi thriller “H+” and “Charlie’s Angels” helmer McG will produce the teen action series “Aim High.”

The shows will appear online before transitioning to more traditional distribution avenues such as television, video on demand, or a theatrical release.

Prior to this, the company has primarily focused on adapting comic book properties for the digital sphere with projects such as "Watchmen Motion Comics" and Terminator The Machinima Series."

The series are being co-financed with Dolphin Entertainment, which has executive produced shows such as “Zoey 101” and “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.”

Warner Bros. and Dolphin Entertainment will work with cable, satellite, broadband and mobile clients for placement and promotional support.

“These two series are perfect examples of the ‘next wave’ of digital programming,” states Bill O’Dowd, president of Dolphin Entertainment, said in a statement.

"Aim High" is written by Heath Corson ("Living with Abandon" / "Scary Godmother") and Richie Keen ("Living with Abandon") and is directed by Thor Freudenthal ("Hotel for Dogs"/ "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"). Pre-production is underway and shooting will take place in Los Angeles this October.

"H+" is written by John Cabrera ("Gilmore Girls") and Cosimo de Tommaso who also serve as executive producers and directed by Stewart Hendler. "H +" is currently in pre-production and shooting expected to commence by the end of the year.

The studio said that additional details about each series including cast, distribution channels and release dates will be announced in the coming months.
