Watch ‘Star Wars’ Celebration Day Opening Panel With New Footage From ‘Force Awakens’ (Livestream)

J.J. Abrams, producer Kathleen Kennedy and guests to present new footage from Episode VII

The Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, California is kicking off with a big panel featuring “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director JJ Abrams and longtime franchise producer Kathleen Kennedy, and you can watch the livestream even without attending in person.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set 30 years after the events of “The Return of the Jedi,” with a whole new cast of characters joining Mark Hamill‘s Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia and Harrison Ford‘s Han Solo for new adventures.

One trailer for the film has already been released, revealing Oscar Isaac sitting in the cockpit of an X-wing Starfighter, John Boyega as a distraught stormtrooper, and the Millennium Falcon back in action, though the panel promises more new footage.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Max Von Sydow, and will be released on Dec. 18.
