Watch ‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot Slay As a Musical Mermaid (Video)

Before she became the Amazonian princess, actress performed as part of an Israeli Hanukah charity special

Before Gal Gadot wowed critics and fans as “Wonder Woman,” the actress played a singing and dancing mermaid as part of an Israeli Hanukah special. Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, you can watch her splashy performance above.

According to BuzzFeed, the 2009 special raised money for kids. Gadot, wearing a sea shell bra, is singing in her native language, Hebrew, and slays — she sounds and looks like an angel.

The publication reports that the song is not “Under The Sea” but a song called “Beloved,” in which Gadot’s mermaid character sings to a man about how the two of them can get through anything together. People commenting on the video on YouTube claim the song is called “In Love” and stems from a 2008 performance.

Since then, the 32-year-old actress has starred in various “Fast & Furious” movies, as well as “Triple 9,” “Date Night,” “Criminal” and “Keeping Up With the Joneses.” The actress first appeared as Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and then reprised the role in the standalone “Wonder Woman” film, which had the highest opening weekend for a film directed by a woman (Patty Jenkins).

Gadot will next reprise the role in November’s “Justice League” alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Ezra Miller.

Representatives for Gadot have not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
